Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is ramping up efforts to increase engagement on its Threads app. As Threads usage continues to rise in the U.S., Meta is now enticing high-profile creators with financial incentives to post on the app.
Prominent creators across Meta’s other apps have been offered up to $5,000 to share content on Threads. Additionally, if their post garners over 10,000 views, they become eligible for a payout. However, this bonus program is by invitation only, with Meta selecting creators to participate.
This move aims to attract popular creators who have yet to establish a presence on Threads. It follows Meta’s strategy of forming partnerships with celebrities and sports teams to generate interest in the app.
Earlier this month, Meta launched the initial stage of the bonus program with selected users. The company has now increased the payout amounts and the minimum views required for qualification.
The goal is to further propel Threads’ growth, as Meta recently reported an increase of 20 million users since February, bringing the total monthly active users to 150 million.
