YouTube Music Tests AI-Generated Radio and Adds Song Recognition Tool

YouTube Music is rolling out two innovative features aimed at enhancing song discovery for its users.

AI-Generated Radio

YouTube Music has begun testing an AI-driven radio feature with select Premium users in the United States. This new feature allows users to create custom radio stations by describing their musical preferences, such as “catchy pop choruses” or “upbeat pop anthems.” This move aligns YouTube Music with other streaming services like Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer, which are also experimenting with AI playlist generation tools. The feature is expected to be available to more users in the future.

Song Recognition Tool

In addition to the radio feature, YouTube Music has introduced a new song recognition tool similar to Shazam. Users can now identify songs by singing, humming, or playing them. To use this tool, simply tap the “search” button in the app and look for the waveform icon. This feature will help users quickly discover song titles without needing to know the lyrics or artist.

These updates mark YouTube Music’s latest efforts to make song discovery more intuitive and personalized for its users.
